hygiene for more than 25 years and has been recognized for professional
excellence with honors that include the Alabama Dental Hygienists'
Association's "Outstanding Dental Hygienist" award and she has served as the
President of Sigma Phi Alpha, the national dental hygiene honor society.
Published in numerous journals and abstracts, she also actively holds
positions on the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Clinical
Dentistry, Journal of Practical Hygiene. She has held numerous
consulting and advisory positions over the past 25 years related to dental
and dental hygiene research and the ADA's Commission on Dental Accreditation
and has served as a director of a baccalaureate degree dental hygiene
program. She also devotes much time to professional-related community
service. Ms. Barnes is a Professor and Coordinator of Clinical Research at
the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Dentistry.
Michelle L. Sensat, RDH, MS been practicing, teaching, and
participating in clinical research for over 6 years. She has been recognized
for professional excellence with honors that include University of Nebraska
Medical Center College of Dentistry's "Outstanding Teacher Award." Currently
practicing dental hygiene as a member of University Dental Associates, she
is also assistant professor and preclinical coordinator in the Department of
Dental Hygiene. She holds many committee assignments, and is an active
member within her community, devoting much time to service that includes
dental screenings and dental education. She has been published in the
Journal of Dental Hygiene, has given presentations at national meetings, and
has contributed chapters to leading texts in the field. |
